Basics
John hosts classes on what is, arbitrarily, first aid in Imeeji. The classes are on the odd-numbered days of Imeeji at 7AM and are frequently announced on Dissonance to make it easy for anyone to turn up. No matter what game or otherwise happened before or is happening during, John will be there and ready to teach. Check the classes listed in the comments to see what kind of topics are covered. John is not going to teach anesthesia and pharmacology, so if your character is hunting for that kind of information, we should have a thread about it. ICly, John would ask what the situation is and may prescribe something on a one-off basis if he cannot be there to administer.

Clinic
John has set-up a clinic on the first level of one of the empty buildings between the Hotel and the Game Tower. It has beds, tables, medical equipment, and a number of medical machines. One half of the clinic is a dedicated space for classes, the other half is for treating people. It is open for everyone to use, but it is mainly meant for whomever John is teaching that requires a clean and stocked place to take care of something. If you have any questions about it, ping me on discord.

Play & Attendance
Aside from rare exceptions, I am not hosting these classes ICly, because I am not any kind of medical professional and playing it out would be stressful. At times, I do post or comment in the appropriate mingle for after class discussions and interactions in order to keep it connected and involved to the game at large. I will try to link in Discord whenever this happens.

To keep the community up to date on what topics are covered, I will be commenting on this post with whatever the lesson du jour is below then notify people in Discord. It would be helpful if you could say if your character turned up for any particular lesson moving forward.

Teacher
Surprising no one, John is a strict teacher. He may not recall it, but he used to be a graduate-level teacher and certainly acts like it. If anyone arrives late, they will be asked to leave; and everyone must take notes. Due to lack of resources, John is working strictly with whatever he can describe, draw, or, more often than not, present pictures within medical texts of. It is an hour of absolutely less than exciting dictation by John. He does drill everyone to make sure they have a good grasp of the material and will present novel situations to assess if people can respond correctly. However, he behaves outside of class with someone, he will be more patient and thorough with them as a student. Ultimately, John wants people to feel prepared to manage a crisis for a brief period and always advises students that they can contact him in the event of an emergency.

B was there thirty minutes early and promptly fell asleep until someone woke him up for class starting. Attentive student, tends to doodle random patterns in the margins of his notebook. Pleasant but a more quiet student who doesn't volunteer for things.

Cobalt was present, furiously taking notes as usual. He will also distribute Energy Recharges before class to anyone who'd like one (one hour free of sleepiness.)

While he may not answer all of John's questions perfectly or to the degree of detail he expects, it's clear that he's doing his best and taking this very seriously.

Sol makes it there exactly on time! He's focused and silent today, except when spoken to. He'll answer any questions John asks perfectly for once. It's also pretty obvious that he's not happy, but hey, is that a problem if it makes him a better student? No, right?

As soon as the lesson is over, he'll thank John and try to leave before anyone else can approach him.

Hiryuu arrived for the first time for a class, before the start but not super duper early. On the other hand, she was at least very alert the whole way through and paid very close attention. Although she probably looked like she wanted to ask questions, she just took a lot of notes.

Thorn has been at every lesson so far, barring a few days post Hunger Games, and should be assumed to be at every lesson going forward unless otherwise noted.

As usual, he was groggy immediately after arrival because he is bad at early mornings. The notebook that's been there since John told him to start bringing one is now a permanent fixture. His notes are a little sparse, but he is absolutely always able to answer questions re: anything John's covered in class and a little more besides. He's been studying up on his own.

His body language (usually slouching a little and chin in hand for most of the lesson) completely changed when Hiryuu showed up for the lesson this time. He went from relaxed and casual to 100% on alert in about .5 seconds and stayed that way for the rest of the time.

He usually asks questions after class, but this time he cut out as soon as John was finished.

Persephone was actually present for once. Tired (until presumably zapped with Energy Recharge), takes excellent notes. Sits apart from everyone unless made to move, absolutely silent unless asked a question which he answers in as few words as possible.

Oh yes, he is definitely present for this! As he's wanted it so badly after what happened to Pink. So he is extra attentive and jotting down all the notes. He's still going to answer any and every questions with his typical sass, but he's also going to be right a good deal of the time. An indicator that he's actually serious about learning this.

Silver was there and made sure to take proper notes from the start so he wouldn't get scolded this time. Sat next to B.

Gladiolus was present and was very attentive, taking plenty of notes. If asked questions she would give reasonably correct answers, though if John wanted detail she was short on those (without prompting). All in all she was taking things seriously and clearly wanted to learn.

(working backwards through these since I fell behind on updating you)

Amaranth was present and notably engaged for this subject.
If given the opportunity to ask questions, she was especially eager to know the success rates of these techniques, and observably frustrated to learn their limitations.
