Basics
John hosts classes on what is, arbitrarily, first aid in Imeeji. The classes are on the odd-numbered days of Imeeji at 7AM and are frequently announced on Dissonance to make it easy for anyone to turn up. No matter what game or otherwise happened before or is happening during, John will be there and ready to teach. Check the classes listed in the comments to see what kind of topics are covered. John is not going to teach anesthesia and pharmacology, so if your character is hunting for that kind of information, we should have a thread about it. ICly, John would ask what the situation is and may prescribe something on a one-off basis if he cannot be there to administer.
Clinic
John has set-up a clinic on the first level of one of the empty buildings between the Hotel and the Game Tower. It has beds, tables, medical equipment, and a number of medical machines. One half of the clinic is a dedicated space for classes, the other half is for treating people. It is open for everyone to use, but it is mainly meant for whomever John is teaching that requires a clean and stocked place to take care of something. If you have any questions about it, ping me on discord.
Play & Attendance
Aside from rare exceptions, I am not hosting these classes ICly, because I am not any kind of medical professional and playing it out would be stressful. At times, I do post or comment in the appropriate mingle for after class discussions and interactions in order to keep it connected and involved to the game at large. I will try to link in Discord whenever this happens.
To keep the community up to date on what topics are covered, I will be commenting on this post with whatever the lesson du jour is below then notify people in Discord. It would be helpful if you could say if your character turned up for any particular lesson moving forward.
Teacher
Surprising no one, John is a strict teacher. He may not recall it, but he used to be a graduate-level teacher and certainly acts like it. If anyone arrives late, they will be asked to leave; and everyone must take notes. Due to lack of resources, John is working strictly with whatever he can describe, draw, or, more often than not, present pictures within medical texts of. It is an hour of absolutely less than exciting dictation by John. He does drill everyone to make sure they have a good grasp of the material and will present novel situations to assess if people can respond correctly. However, he behaves outside of class with someone, he will be more patient and thorough with them as a student. Ultimately, John wants people to feel prepared to manage a crisis for a brief period and always advises students that they can contact him in the event of an emergency.
