You're used to being coddled, celebrated for being a cut above. It makes praise hollow for you which makes you hungrier for genuine acknowledgement.

Being an agent isn't being the hero. At best, you're invisible. At worst, you tear down someone's world. The tragedy that couldn't ever happen, the beloved husband become vicious stranger. So, don't expect to hear "thanks" or "good job".
